Exemplary Practices in Peer Advising

Earlier this year, our office nominated the Rice PAA Program to be recognized in the second edition of the NACADA Monograph for Exemplary Practices in Peer Advising. Considering our celebration of the PAA program’s 10th anniversary, it seemed appropriate to acknowledge how the program has developed and honor past, current, and future PAAs for all their hard work and dedication to advising at Rice.

We just learned that the PAA Program has made it to the next round of consideration! They’ve asked for some more information about various components of our organization as well as some input from the PAAs themselves. That’s where you come in!

The selection committee wants to learn more about PAA’s goals for involvement in the program and outcomes in result of their participation.  They are also interested in any leadership roles, lessons, or experience you have gained through the program.

We will be compiling this student information as well as other additional material for our next submission at the end of June. If you’d like to participate (and we hope you do!) please email scloots@rice.edu with your responses to goals, outcomes, or leadership experiences with the PAA program.  We know you all have busy and fun summer plans, but this should only take a few minutes and can truly make an impact for the future of this program!

Thanks again for your help in making this organization’s practices nationally recognized!
