Each year we recognize one outstanding faculty advisor and one stellar PAA as recipients of the Office of Academic Advising Excellence in Advising Awards. Our intention is to recognize and reward individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and truly made a significant impact on the educational experience of undergraduates.
This spring (2013) our peer academic advisor recipient was Michael Lam, a rising senior at Sid Rich College who has served as an O-Week PAA, as a Head PAA, and is one of the Student Directors for next year.
Past PAA recipients of the award include:
2009: Layla Abu-Shamat, Lovett College ’11, who served as Student Director of PAA from 2009-2011, as well as Lovett Head PAA from 2009-2011
2010: Katie Douglass, Baker College ’11, who served as Head PAA for Baker College and Duncan College during a year of transition
2011: Emily Pyle, McMurtry ’12 who served as Head PAA and O-week PAA for McMurtry College.
2012: Megan Johnson, Hanszen ’12 who served as Head PAA and O-week PAA for Hanszen College
