The Peer Academic Advisor Program begins recruiting in January for the upcoming academic year. Strong candidates are interested in helping new Rice Owls in their academic transition to Rice by invigorating the academic climate at their respective college, advising their peers, and supplementing the faculty advising system. All applicants must be in good academic and judicial standing at Rice University and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
The role of the O-Week Peer Academic Advisors (PAAs) is to supplement faculty advising and increase availability and accessibility of academic advising resources for new students during O-Week. O-Week PAAs are also responsible for logistical issues related to academic advising at their college. During the academic year, PAAs are a resource to all students at the college for information and guidance on academic issues.
