The Office of Academic Advising is expanding the PAA program by instituting a number of committees within each college. Each PAA is encouraged to be a representative of one committee and fulfill the roles and duties expected of the position. You can choose to participate in more than one committee, but you must assume all responsibilities associated with all positions. This is to ensure that each PAA is specialized in some aspect of the advising program, as well as to ensure greater involvement from each member of the PAA team. Beginning in fall 2012, you will attend a brief mandatory training session to learn more specific information about your program of interest and receive the necessary materials you will need throughout the year.
Though you will serve as a committee member within your own college, committees across campus may be expected to collaborate on events. Note that you do not have to fall into the category of the committee that you are interested in (i.e. you can be a transfer student PAA even if you aren’t a transfer student).
