Health Professions PAAs are specialized peer academic advisors that have been trained through the Office of Academic Advising to effectively engage and shepherd pre-health professions students as they prepare for their professional programs. Health Professions PAAs are prepared to answer questions about the pre-medical track, but also are familiar with pre-veterinary, pre-optometry, pre-nursing, pre-physical therapy, etc. Ultimately, Health Professions PAAs are able to provide holistic guidance for students interested in a variety of health professions, and are indicated as the first people to go to for students seeking advice in pre-health professions tracks. Many of the Health Professions PAAs are considering going to medical school or other health related fields, so their personal experience offers unique insight and helpful tips for the process.
In addition to serving as a resource for individual questions, health professions PAAs help coordinate information sessions in conjunction with the Office of Academic Advising, in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
